Precision Wall Tech is our employer partner and owner Cindy Athey sits on our board. Fresh Start Project (FSP) refers participants who successfully complete our program to Precision Wall Tech’s open positions; particularly the apprenticeship program. Precision Wall Tech has a registered painting and wall covering apprenticeship program in Washington DC where they train individuals to become journeyman painters. FSP provides foundational training through hands-on learning and introduction to the trades industry and then refers out to employers like Precision who are aware of us.
Fresh Start Project (FSP) provides an "Introduction to Construction" training program for the cadets at the DC National Guard Capital Guardian Youth ChalleNGe Academy. The Academy is a 5 ½ month residential military-style program for 16, 17, and 18-year-olds at risk of failing school.
FSP spends 13 weeks providing hands-on learning opportunities and in-class instruction while making it a fun learning environment for the youth. Participants receive certifications related to the trades during the training that they can add to their resumes and receive awareness of these particular career choices.
Fresh Start Project (FSP) and Edgewood/Brookland Family Support Collaborative have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding where FSP has agreed to provide training to those Edgewood clients interested in careers in the trades. Edgewood will refer clients to us and FSP will train them and provide periodic updates on their progress including attendance records, participation, goals, and more!
DC Mayors Office of Returning Citizens (MORCA) serves as the District of Columbia’s coordinating and advisory agency for reentry. MORCA seeks to remove barriers to reentry and empowers residents to break the cycle of recidivism. Through the MORCA case management program, MORCA ensures that previously incarcerated people are connected to essential programs and services in areas such as employment, health, education, housing assistance, and social services. MORCA refers clients to Fresh Start Project’s 8-week construction and building trades training program.
Lasting Change Life Coaching offers Personal Financial Empowerment and Coaching, Workforce Development / Career Instructor and Coach, Human Resource Management, Small Business Consulting, Case Management, and Life Coaching.
Lasting Change Life Coaching offers Fresh Start Project participants small group and one on one financial literacy and personalized financial coaching sessions.
